WINERY
Deep roots, high standards
The Oberfurner farm and its vineyards are a legacy our family has built upon for generations. Today, we’re embarking on an exciting new journey: the three of us are charting a new path, creating distinctive wines for wine lovers on the hunt for something truly exceptional.

Farmers since 1510
The Oberfurner farm has been cultivated year in and year out for over 500 years. Our grandfather Luis raised cattle here. But when our father Hans took over in 1985, he took a bold step: he transitioned entirely to viticulture. Together with our mother, Hedi, he also opened a Buschenschank wine tavern. What times those were! During the Törggelen season, guests gathered in the cosy, original farmhouse parlour to share good food, music and laughter – often until the early hours.
The next big turning point came in 2020 when Michael took over the farm. It was then that the vision of creating our own winery began to take shape…
Where wooden barrels and technology meet
In our grandfather’s day, cows and pigs lived within the more than 300-year-old vaulted cellar. After a careful renovation, these ancient walls now house our ultra-modern wine cellar. With a gravity-based system (processing grapes from top to bottom), wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks, we have everything we need to produce wine. Inside, Klaus leads a special team that experiments to produce exceptional wines for you.

Forget dark and musty – our cellar is bright and modern!
Our cellar is a place of joy, and we’d love to share it with you. You can taste our wines and experience their unique character in this inviting and atmospheric space.
A parlour steeped in history
Our wood-panelled farmhouse parlour boasts over 500 years of history. You can hear it in the creaks and squeaks of the floorboards and feel it in every corner of the room. Back when we were kids, and our parents still ran the Buschenschank farmhouse tavern, we entertained guests here. We loved performing during the Törggelen season, delighting visitors with our songs. Times have changed, but the charm remains: today, this rustic setting is where we hold wine tastings, transforming casual wine drinkers into true wine lovers.

Our Heritage: The Furner Hottlinger
Whether the name “Oberfurner” inspired “Furner Hottler” or the other way around remains a mystery. Back in the “good old days”, such details were irrelevant – what mattered most was a good harvest. Today, however, this indigenous variety has all but vanished. Perhaps it’s because Furner Hottler is a light red wine with notably high acidity – far from ideal. Still, our ancestors cultivated this unique grape, and we’re determined to keep it alive. It represents our history, roots and heritage – and to tease something new out of the past.
